Hotel Solutions DMC is an accredited Fáilte Ireland Destination Management Company and a proudly Irish, second-generation family-run business.

Founded in 2002 by Michelle Thornton, our story is one of passion, hospitality, and commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences. Stuart Thornton joined the company in 2013, following in his mother’s footsteps, and is now SITE Ireland President.

Our close-knit team of event management specialists designs bespoke, exciting, and successful programmes, from small leisure groups enjoying Ireland’s renowned golf courses to large incentive and corporate groups seeking unforgettable rewards and events.

We pride ourselves on delivering authentic experiences with a personal touch, supported by an exceptional network of trusted suppliers. Our top sustainability tip is to begin with practical actions that can be embedded into everyday operations. Small changes, such as reducing waste, monitoring energy use, and choosing local sustainable suppliers, quickly add up and create lasting impact when supported by staff engagement. Our proudest sustainability achievement is the tangible progress we have made in reducing our environmental footprint through operational improvements. These include upgrading our entire building to LED lighting, installing solar panels on our roof, introducing composting to minimise food waste, and ensuring all shredded paper is repurposed for animal bedding. This reflects our commitment to continuous improvement.

At Hotel Solutions DMC, we believe that “sustainable tourism is tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts while addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities” (UN Tourism, n.d.). We therefore aim to reduce our negative effects and increase our positive impacts.

Sustainability Measures to Date

Hotel Solutions DMC has implemented a range of sustainability measures to reduce our environmental impact and support responsible tourism. Our office operates with energy efficiency in mind, with the entire building upgraded to LED lighting and newly installed solar panels on our roof. We monitor electricity and water usage and encourage low-impact transport through car-pooling and public transport where possible. Waste reduction is a key focus: all shredded paper is repurposed for animal bedding, and we maintain a compost bin to minimise food waste. We also prioritise ethical local purchasing and offset unavoidable emissions through certified programmes.

Products/Services

Hotel Solutions DMC offers a wide range of destination and event services across Ireland. They specialise in corporate event management, incentive travel programmes, conferences, and meeting production. Their team provides full planning and onsite coordination, ensuring smooth delivery from start to finish. They also offer free venue sourcing, helping clients find suitable hotels and event spaces through strong supplier relationships. Additional services include audiovisual and conference technology support, transfers and ground handling, accommodation bookings, bespoke leisure tours, and traditional Irish cultural experiences. Hotel Solutions DMC also supports virtual and hybrid events, creating tailored solutions for international groups and organisations.

Community or Local Projects

All-Ireland Pollinator Plan: Hotel Solutions DMC has signed up to the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan 2021–2025 and has reached out to a local school to raise awareness about pollination and biodiversity in the community, with plans to sponsor a project.

Tree Planting & Biodiversity Support: Through a partnership with Grown Forest, the company has planted 2 oak trees in its name and 10 other native species on behalf of the business, and plans to support this further by purchasing native Irish trees.
