Membership – Terms And Conditions

In order to become a member of Sustainable Travel Ireland, you must first read and agree to the terms and conditions of this Membership Agreement. By ticking the ‘I agree to the terms and conditions’ box on the sign up form, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1. Subscription Conditions

Registration for Sustainable Travel Ireland membership is available to all tourism businesses in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Businesses are required to read and agree to the Sustainable Travel Ireland Code of Conduct and will be held accountable for upholding this code throughout the duration of membership. Sustainable Travel Ireland Ireland reserves the right to terminate the membership of any business in breach of the code of conduct and fees paid will be non-refundable.

Membership fees are non-refundable except in special circumstances at the discretion of Sustainable Travel Ireland management.

Any business wishing to access certification level must first register as a member and submit the annual fee.

All members of Sustainable Travel Ireland must use accurate implementation of Sustainable Travel Ireland licensing standards as issued to all members in accordance with their level of membership. The logo issued to you is appropriate to your level of membership. Use of a logo graded at a higher level than issued is prohibited and will initiate a review of your membership status.

Any business wishing to skip the verified level of membership and apply for certification must first submit their application documents for review and access to audit will be subject to approval by Sustainable Travel Ireland. This review will incur a fee.

2. Termination Of Membership

Membership of Sustainable Travel Ireland may be terminated at any time, and without cause, by both parties. Sustainable Travel Ireland reserves the right to refuse registration or membership to any business for any reason. In case of termination by the member, the membership fee for the current calendar year will be due, unless otherwise agreed by both parties.

3. Password Security

Access to and use of the members section of the website is through the use of a Login name and Password. Each member must keep their password strictly confidential. Sharing a unique Login name and/or password with another business is prohibited.

4. Label

A member label will be supplied only subsequent to review and approval by Sustainable Travel Ireland of the member business’ Sustainable Tourism Policy.

5. User Rights

The materials and all services provided to you on this website and in person are the property of Sustainable Travel Ireland. The use of these materials for purposes outside of your organisation without the permission of Sustainable Travel Ireland is not permitted. In case you publish the materials in any way you are required to refer to the Sustainable Travel Ireland name and logo. At all times in using the materials you must agree to respect the privacy rights of individuals and organisations mentioned in the materials and in accordance with GDPR.

6. Inappropriate Use Of Members Section

In the use of the members section you agree and warrant that you shall not submit, publish, or display on the website any material which has nothing to do with the subject; material that might be offensive, objectionable or unlawful. You agree not to post any material which would violate or infringe the copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, privacy rights or other rights of any person while connected to or otherwise directly or indirectly using the website.

7. Data Security And Privacy

Sustainable Travel Ireland guarantees to respect the confidentiality of all information introduced into the system by the participants. No data will be published to third parties without prior agreement of the participants. All data management and storage is fully compliant with GDPR legislation.

8. Liability

You and anyone claiming on behalf of you releases and forever discharges Sustainable Travel Ireland and its affiliates, successors and assigns, officers, employees, representatives, partners, agents and anyone claiming through them (collectively, the “Sustainable Travel Ireland Parties”), in their individual and/or corporate capacities from any and all claims, liabilities, obligations, promises, agreements, disputes, demands, damages, causes of action of any nature and kind, known or unknown, which you have or ever had or may in the future have against Sustainable Travel Ireland or any of the Sustainable Travel Ireland Parties arising out of or relating to this agreement and the related services.

Entire Agreement

This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the member and Sustainable Travel Ireland regarding members’ use of the website, and all materials directly and indirectly related to it. This Agreement supersedes all prior written and verbal understandings, writings, and representations and may only be amended after mutual agreement with Sustainable Travel Ireland.

You acknowledge and agree that the terms and conditions of this Agreement are subject to change by Sustainable Travel Ireland at any time and shall be effective after having been posted on the website. It is your duty and responsibility to periodically check the Terms and Conditions posted at the website.
