Roisin Finlay

Roisin Finlay joined the Sustainable Travel Ireland team fresh from running Outsider magazine for the last 15 years. As editor of Ireland’s leading outdoor and adventure publication, she was the jammy one with a ‘job’ that meant lots of outdoor fun, travel, activity and writing. Roisin’s work involved many jaunts around Ireland and further afield, experiencing al fresco adventures that turned friends positively green with envy. These included lung-busting hut-to-hut hiking trips in the Dolomites, five-star ski holidays in the French Alps and cold-water immersion therapy while attempting to surf Ireland’s wild waves.

In an era defined by the climate change emergency, Roisin now wants to use her considerable energy and experience running an SME to help the travel industry transition to a sustainable future. Afterall, it’s only fair that future generations can and should enjoy the amazing wonders, communities and experiences that she has – including a thorough run through the Atlantic Ocean’s spin cycle.
